Super Rugby round 7 wrap

Well, in Super Rugby news, round 7 got started as the dominant Crusaders team return to winning ways after losing to the Waratahs last week, over powering the error ridden Hurricanes (Well, they were inconsistent in the process by losing that match) at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Friday before the 14 man Blues go 3 in a row (1st it was the Sunwolves then the Highlanders & now the Stormers), beating the Stormers with a bonus point victory at Eden Park in Auckland then the Chiefs (Who were without one of their best players Brodie Retallick who had to rest due to the All Black rest requirements policy) followed up their thrashing against the Bulls to produce their 2nd win of the season against the Jaguares at the Jose Amalfitani Stadium in Buenos Aires.

And finally here are the rest of the results from round 7 of the 2019 Super Rugby season:

Waratahs 29 - 31 Sunwolves
Reds 13 - 32 Rebels
& Sharks 16 - 19 Bulls

So that is my 278th blog of the year 2019 (MMXIX) & my 18th of this year.

Super Rugby round 6 wrap

Well, in Super Rugby news, round 6 got underway as the Blues (Who were without star second five Sonny Bill Williams who has gone to Christchurch to help out with the Muslim community after the tragic events unfolded in Christchurch on the 15th of March) end a 3 year drought against New Zealand opposition, beating the Highlanders in the process by 7 points at Eden Park in Auckland before the Hurricanes got back on track after a disappointing draw against the Chiefs 10 days ago, winning the match against the Stormers in a close quarters affair at Westpac Stadium in Wellington then the Crusaders (Well, they were thinking of a name change in wake of the Christchurch terror attacks (They could've been known as the Plainsmen in 1995 before the 1996 Super 12 season but they replaced it with Crusaders) due to its links to the medieval crusades that included wars between Christians & Muslims in the Mediterranean that cost somewhere between one & two million lives) suffer their 1st defeat against the Waratahs at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney (Well, the Crusaders were disappointing & inconsistent by losing the match (They had to rest star first five Richie Mo'unga due to the All Blacks rest requirements policy so Brett Cameron took Mo'unga's place) because they were regrouping after the tragedy had struck because they originally going to play against the Highlanders in a great southern derby game in Dunedin 9 days ago but it was eventually cancelled & both sides shared 2 points each) then finally on the other hand, the winless Chiefs finally get their 1st victory of the 2019 season, beating the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria (Effectively ending an 18 year drought when the Chiefs last beat the Bulls in Pretoria way back in 2001).

And finally here are the rest of the results from round 6 of the 2019 Super Rugby season:

Lions 37 - 24 Sunwolves
Sharks 28 - 14 Rebels
Reds 36 - 14 Brumbies

So that is my 277th blog of the year 2019 (MMXIX) & my 17th of this year.

Super Rugby & Six Nations round 5 wrap (+ Some horrible events unfolded in Christchurch)

Well, in Super Rugby news as the match between the Chiefs & Hurricanes ended in a draw in Hamilton while the Highlanders match with the Crusaders has been called off on Saturday (That was indeed the right decision by the Crusaders because they were in favour of cancelling the match) in Dunedin due to the terrible events unfolded (Well, something has just happened) on Friday including that dreadful mass mosque shootings in Christchurch that I will not talk about on my blog today which claimed 50 innocent lives (Our thoughts, prayers & condolences are with you, unbelievable that had just happened so rest in paradise to our Muslim brothers right here in New Zealand) but here are the other results from round 5:

Brumbies 19 - 13 Waratahs
Stormers 35 - 8 Jaguares
Sunwolves 31 - 34 Reds
Lions 36 - 33 Rebels

And finally Wales win the Six Nations crown (A fitting farewell for outgoing Wales coach Warren Gatland but Wales go into the 2019 Rugby World Cup as the Six Nations champions), denying Ireland the chance to successfully defend their crown by winning both the grand slam & triple crown in Cardiff (Including that only try for Wales by Kiwi born player Hadleigh Parkes who had just scored after 2 minutes straight after the beginning of the match while player of the game honours went to another New Zealand born player Gareth Anscombe) while the match between England (Brad Shields was another one of those Kiwi born players playing for England along with Mako Vunipola & Ben Te'o while France has Uini Atonio, Ireland has both Bundee Aki & Joey Carbery, Italy has Dean Budd, Jayden Hayward & Jimmy Tuivati, Scotland has both Simon Berghan, Nick Grigg & Sean Maitland & Wales has got both Anscombe & Parkes as I mentioned before) & Scotland ended in a draw (England led 31 - 0 but Scotland came back by scoring 38 unanswered points & were on track for a win until England denied the Scots a famous victory at Twickenham at the death) then France defeat Italy in Rome ensuring that the Italians finish bottom of the Six Nations table for the 4th year in a row (Well, they don't belong in the Six Nations after so many losses but Georgia needs to be in the Six Nations after grabbing so many victories in the European Nations Cup (The 2nd tier European rugby competition).

My 1st blog post South Island trip (+ Super Rugby weeks 3 & 4 & Six Nations week 4 results that I've missed so far)

Well, me, Pops, Aunty Tania & Rejean had an incredible trip to the South Island (Wow! It was incredible) but 1st we had to stay at the Reinhardt's place near both Queenstown & Arrowtown then we headed to Curio Bay then Invercargill (Where we went to that Bill Richardson transport world), Manapouri (Where we went to both the Milford & Doubtful sound), Arrowtown & Queenstown (Where we had to stay at that luxurious apartment but we went frisbee golfing there) but we had to head back home (From Queenstown to Palmerston North via Christchurch) on Sunday after an epic trip (Me & Pops went to Raetihi 2 days post South Island trip to commemorate my late brother Wiremu's birth).

And in Super Rugby news that we missed, here are the results of weeks 3 & 4:

Week 3

Hurricanes 43 - 13 Brumbies
Rebels 24 - 19 Highlanders
Chiefs 15 - 30 Sunwolves
Reds 12 - 22 Crusaders
Lions 12 - 30 Bulls
Sharks 11 - 16 Stormers
& Jaguares 23 - 19 Blues

Week 4

Hurricanes 25 - 22 Highlanders
Rebels 29 - 26 Brumbies
Crusaders 57 - 28 Chiefs
Blues 28 - 20 Sunwolves
Waratahs 28 - 17 Reds
Lions 47 - 39 Jaguares
& Bulls 37 - 14 Sharks

And here is the results for week 4 of the 2019 Six Nations Championship

Scotland 11 - 18 Wales
England 57 - 14 Italy
Ireland 26 - 14 France

So the 2019 Six Nations title will be decided this week but there is only 3 countries left (Such as England (Who'll attempt to regain the title from the Irish), Ireland (Who'll also attempt to successfully defend the title) & Wales (Who are just one victory away from claiming both the grand slam & triple crown) in contention for the title (With the winner getting one of European rugby's most prized possessions, the Six Nations trophy).

So that is my 275th blog of the year 2019 (MMXIX) & my 15th of this year, mate wa (Until next time).
