Super Rugby Aotearoa round 9 wrap & sports career defining moments of Grant Elliott & Mitch Hunt I saw on TV today (+ Super Rugby Aotearoa round 10 wrap)

Well, the Chiefs season is over as they lose to the Hurricanes (Who had the returning Peter Umaga-Jensen (Who is a relative of the Umaga brothers of Mike & Tana & the late Jerry Collins as well as he is the twin brother of Thomas) scoring both tries in the match but the Chiefs have lost Sam Cane during the match through concussion after trying or attempting to tackle Jordie Barrett but he is fine as he is cleared of a serious injury so that would've affected his All Black captaincy as he currently is under return to play protocols) in Wellington to end a disappointing season without a win (Well, they're the worst New Zealand Super Rugby team ever) before the dominant Crusaders (Led by the incomparable hooker Codie Taylor) side (Arguably New Zealand's best Super Rugby franchise of all time) clinch the inaugural Super Rugby Aotearoa title with only 1 match to spare (They travel to Auckland to take on the Blues in the last round of the competition) as they finished off the poor old Highlanders in a great southern derby game on their home patch in Christchurch (Including a double from high flying Crusaders winger & All Black incumbent, George Bridge (Just like Peter Umaga-Jensen did against the Chiefs).

And here is the list of round 10 matches being played in Super Rugby Aotearoa:

Highlanders Vs Hurricanes (Their most recent meeting was this year in which the Hurricanes won at Sky Stadium in Wellington against the Highlanders in round 5 but the last time the Highlanders beat the Hurricanes was in round 16 of the 2018 Super Rugby season at Forsyth Barr Stadium)

& Blues Vs Crusaders (The last time both of these sides was this year in which the Crusaders took top honors against the Blues at Orangetheory Stadium in Christchurch in round 5 but it's been 6 years since the Blues had last beaten the Crusaders & it was in round 3 at Eden Park).

And I saw on TV today that Grant Elliott (Born in Johannesburg in South Africa) had hit the match winning six with 2 balls to spare to put New Zealand (Which featured big names including captain Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson, wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi, Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee, Trent Boult & Matt Henry) through to our 1st Cricket World Cup final in 2015 after we beat South Africa (Some good players involved including captain AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir & JP Duminy) in the semifinal at the garden of Eden at Eden Park in Auckland then Mitch Hunt (Who used to be a Crusader then he is now a Highlander but according to rugby commentator Scotty 'Sumo' Stevenson that when he kicked that drop goal, he was celebrating like a little hobbit who had taken the ring back to Mordor (Well that is a bit of a Lord Of The Rings reference right here) had kicked the match winning drop goal for the Crusaders (Which featured big names including captain Sam Whitelock, Joe Moody, Codie Taylor, Owen Franks, Luke Romano, Matt Todd, Kieran Read, Richie Mo'unga, George Bridge, Ryan Crotty, Jack Goodhue, Wyatt Crockett & Israel Dagg) in 2017 in which they beat the Highlanders (Some good players involved including co captain Ben Smith, Liam Coltman, Aaron Smith, Malakai Fekitoa & Waisake Naholo) in a great southern derby during a Super Rugby game at AMI Stadium Addington at the time (Now Orangetheory Stadium) in Christchurch but both have been awarded best sporting moments of the year at the Halberg awards in 2015 (Grant Elliott's six) & 2017 (Mitch Hunt's drop goal) respectively.

So that is my 358th blog of the year 2020 (MMXX) & my 18th of this year

P.S. And Jona Nareki's Highlanders side have beaten our beloved Hurricanes side in the last match of Super Rugby Aotearoa at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin (Although the match had been given the go ahead with no crowds because we are back on alert level 2 (Although the match between the Blues & the newly crowned Super Rugby Aotearoa champions the Crusaders at Eden Park in Auckland had been called off (Due to so many confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Auckland (Which is now alert level 3 in the Auckland area but I have mixed feelings about the outbreak/pandemic worldwide (America is far worse (Especially in states like California, Florida, New York & Texas), so too is Canada (Even Quebec is worse), Argentina, Brazil, Europe (Like Italy, Russia, Spain & the UK), South Africa & the Australian state of Victoria (The law requires all of them living in the Australian state of Victoria will be required to wear mask in public or face a fine if they don't wear them) but we are now facing tough times this year along with the civil unrest in America especially the Black Lives Matter movement that happened 2 or 3 months ago (And there are calls to curb racism throughout their African American & black colleagues that have fallen victim to racial abuse) so both sides shared 2 points each for a draw) according to our Prime Minister (The right honourable) Jacinda Ardern (The one that Pops & Carole famously met at a Labour party campaign launch here in Whanganui & they took a photo with the PM (Although the Prime Minister was like when she announced that we're going back to alert level 2 but hang on (Hold the phone), we are not done yet with the corona virus situation (And the old rules are back such as physical distancing (They must keep an eye to the social distancing line as they approach & make sure they don't get caught or they'll remember the physical distancing because they can be caught if they exceed it & they must keep in mind as they approach (And they want to avoid COVID-19 (Is like during a safety car intervention in an F1 race that they must slow down & respect the delta because they want to avoid a penalty), contact tracing at restaurants, bars & cafes & less than 100 people are allowed at public gatherings).
